We got an exclusive interview with the Liverpool three piece before they head to the indie awards…
The Wombats have told MTV they don’t expect to win much at today’s NME Awards and will probably just get drunk.

“We’ve been nominated for a couple of things but I don’t think we are holding out really,” guitarist Dan’ told us. “But we are gonna be the sh*t-faced guys at the back with no awards." [ xD ]
However he added it may not be a good idea to get too drunk: “We’ll be getting a flight to Japan the next morning for a gig.”

The Let’s Dance To Joy Division hitmakers are up for three awards at the ceremony including Best Track.

Asked about the New Band category singer Murph said: “I think if we won it we’d quite deserve it but I reckon The Enemy will win it because they just seem to win everything the bastards! They are a great band though.”
